   What's interesting is that the banking side eclipsed the underlying   
   economy at roughly the same time that the purely economic order (under the   
   banner of USD) eclipsed everything else. That part makes sense --   
   "everything solid melts into air" was the formula -- but be careful what   
   you wish for, you'll get it. The banks themselves have hastened their own   
   demise.

   I think we often draw the spiral as a figure that cycles from one point of   
   view (seen from above) while evolving from another. The ah "concourse of   
   forces" wobbles and that wobble implies a higher-order vector.
